Meet Bruce Wayne, Gotham’s favorite delinquent son. In an origin story like no other, witness the boy become a dark knight shaped by a city in turmoil as it marches towards its prophesied doom. Set against the backdrop of actual historical events, Gotham comes alive, filled with the iconic characters who've loved and hated Batman over the years like you've never seen them before. Spinning out of the Eisner-nominated Superman: Space Age, Mark Russell and Mike Allred return to give audiences a look at Batman as a figure in American history fighting for justice in a world gone mad.
Date Available: 03/26/2024
BONUS REVIEW by Luke Simkins

Russell and the Allred’s are back with a fantastic follow-up to Superman Space Age. Similar to the previous series, Batman Dark Age re-tells Batman’s origin as if he started out in the 60s. As always, the Allred’s art is fantastic and perfectly encapsulates the pop-art feel of the era. Russell gives us a fresh take on the Dark Knight’s origin, making Bruce a delinquent who did not witness his parents’ death and instead stayed home from the fateful screening of The Mask of Zorro. Without an early sense of justice, a young Bruce Wayne rebels and uses his connections to bail himself out of trouble as his company is taken over by mysterious and malevolent forces. A great set-up, I’m very excited to see how this story further twists and turns into its own Batman mythos.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
