CLARK KENT is DEAD! The three-part ACTION COMICS summer event storyline begins here! New villain NIMROD THE HUNTER is on SUPERMAN'S trail! He's killed every living thing he's ever tracked - but he's never killed an ALIEN! This issue is also offered as a combo pack edition with a redemption code for a digital download of this issue.

BONUS REVIEW by Gary Owens

The Action reboot has Superman at an earlier age then in Superman, and his youth is really showing here. The cover shows a classic catching-him-in-the-act change, though how the guy holding the rifle can move his hand that fast (look at the speed) is unknown. This issue uncovers more of Superman's current condition, and hints at future conflicts. One of the most striking changes, to me, is how differently Clark acts without bouncing ideas off his father and mother; Grant Morrison is doing a terrific job of showing zeal, confusion, and loneliness in this version of Clark. He has as many internal conflicts as he has external, and for me, from Superman, that's a breath of fresh air. Some of the best superhero characters in comics have these traits. Thank you, Grant, for showing characterization in comics.
