(A) Bill GalvanThe world has witnessed the double-bill of the century, as The Archies and Josie & the Pussycats co-headlined a major concert tour! When the lights dimmed, it turned out that the lyrics to the love songs weren't just being recited on stage, but also whispered into Valerie's ears by Archie! The two lovebirds soon became songbirds, penning their own original love song. But when Betty and Veronica find out, they're in no mood for love songs!

BONUS REVIEW by GARY OWENS

The “I-can-identify” comic this week. The story is simple: Archie falls for Valerie, one of the Josie and The Pussycats band members, but needs to decide how to let others, especially Betty and Veronica, know about this relationship. A real-life issue, with real-life ramifications. The best comics allow us to identify with the main character’s plight, and this has been the consistent strength of Archie comics over the decades. I’ve been in this situation before, and it was fun to read how he handles it. And Dan Parent, the writer, retains the escapist entertainment feel, too, which I like in my comics. For those superhero fans, please consider Archie. It might surprise you.
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
