When the Honor Guard charges into battle, they're not alone. They're backed by a crack support staff, from researchers to threat assessment teams to hotline switchboard clerks. And when one young woman gets the job offer of a lifetime, it opens the way to a world of wonder, of possibilities-and possibly, the greatest mistake of her life. The return of the acclaimed series continues, with a closeup look at the humans behind the super humans.

BONUS REVIEW by John "Doc" Schaefer

Only 2 issues in and Kurt Busiek has brought us back to what made earlier incarnations of Astro City great. The human element! The best tales that came out of Astro City were told by the inhabitants of the city proper. Oh sure the heroes and villians were all there and the epic battles but they were told through the eyes of the bus driver, or the girl behind the counter at Starbucks, or in this case, the phone operator at Humano-Global. And in true Astro City form, the interaction between the heroes and the main characters is limited at best. This is Marella Cowper's story and like many of us she is looking for a job. But the one she's just got is more than she expected. Join the tale as she relates her good days and her bad days and realize that life itself in an adventure that makes heroes and villians out of all of us!

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
