Judd Winnick's Batman has been under appreciated lately, when the Batman mantle was taken up by Dick Grayson, Winnick was one of the only writers to deal with the struggle of Dick coming to terms with trying to become the legend of the Batman. Batman #690 really stands out, we see where Judd is wanting to take this story. Both Penguin and Two-Face's plans come to fruition in this issue, with the Penguin trying to lead Batman in circles and Two-Face reveals why he desperately needs a teleportor. It's also nice to see Winnick honor Batman tridition. Robin has always gone up against Two-Face on his first mission, it's nice to see that now the first Robin has become the new Batman, his first villian he must face is Two-Face. Also, with out giving too much away, this issue has given us the final image from the Tony Daniels' preview poster of the Bat Universe. This issue is a great read and worth picking up and following.
I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
