Batman Annual #1 is a mixed bag of self contained holiday stories.

The good:Good Boy by Tom King and David Finch How does one acquire a Bat-Hound? And where does Kite Man fit in? Find out here.

Silent Night by Scott Snyder, Raw Fawkes, and Declan Shalvey. In a story that would have been better for Nightwing, Declan Shalvey performs visual acrobatics to lighten the mood of Gotham during a dark Christmas. If you don't know his work, check out Moon Knight, All Star Batman, and the Choosing Sides mini series.

The O.K:The Not So Slient Night of the Harley Quinn by Paul Dini and Neal Adams. I bet this is a great script that needs someone with a more animated style to draw it. Should have been the highlight of the book.

The What The What-Why is this here and why do I like so much of it but hate it at the same time??? Stag, buy Steve Orlando and Riley Rossmo Cowboy Ninja Viking's AMAZING Riley Rossmo is as good as ever drawing a story that works only until it is revealed that it is just a set up for something next year. Infuriating. Steve Orlando should know better, and the open 'End?' might as well have blood dripping from it.

The 'Sorry You Don't Get A Fair Shake Because I'm Still Angry From 'Stag': The Insecurity Diversion, by Scott Bryan Wilson and Bilquis Evely. Ahh...I can't even read this I'm so angry about 'Stag'!!!

I'm giving the whole shebang a 7, so that should tell you how good 'Good Boy' and 'Silent Night' were.

I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
