I won't lie. I'm a huge fan. This book culls some of my favorite elements of the Bat-mythos: scorned star-crossed Talia Al Ghul, international spy-fi aspects of the Batman, quirky Silver Age silliness, and operatic tragedy. Burnham's art plays like beautiful music on the page as Morrison spins his final Bat-yarn.
Go back. Read where Bruce Wayne's messiest relationship started: O'Neill's "Saga of Ra's Al'Ghul", the O'Barr "...of the Demon" stories, and Rucka's "Death and the Maiden". Get to know the horrifying and fascinating Al Ghul family and then start Morrison's near-decade run with "Batman and Son". As it has been for me, it will be one of the most rewarding works of fiction you will read. Talia is tough!
DC Editors: PLEASE don't forget this book moving forward. Make spy agency Spyral a part of the New 52! It's genius! Batwoman needs that organization to enter her life! Imagine the Steranko-inspired art by J.H. Williams alone! I want the Bat-menagerie of domesticated animals in Snyder's run! Don't forget compelling issue-concluding elements like Lord Death Man and that mind-bending last page!

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
