BONUS REVIEW by Gavin Rehfeldt

Each issue of Batman Incorporated continues to build upon the last in beautiful fashion, but #4 is the first to truly deliver butt-kicking team-book action. As the gears of Leviathan's master plan accelerate, Gotham City is further compromised, and the Bat-army's formidable defensive closes in, the current issue of this future Bat-classic concludes on a seismic turning point. While the Incorporated aspect of this story is activated, and everyone in the ensemble gets their moment, it is the quiet moments with Thalia, Batman, and Damian Wayne that elevate this book. Grant Morrison hasn't created so many moving character-based moments in one issue. If possible, Chris Burnham's interior art has somehow gotten even better. The staging of the big battle set-piece is incredible, and there is a more impressionistic panel where the Bat-Signal illuminates an undulating wall of smoke that is a work of fine art. This is the Bat-book to buy above all else, in my estimation, despite what some Jokers might say.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
