• The star of JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK is unleashed in his all-new ongoing series! • Liar, cheater, manipulator…John Constantine is all of these, and yet he uses these skills and more to protect the world from the darkest corners of the DC Universe. • What Constantine learns in this first issue will shake the very foundations of the New 52…and only he knows how to deal with it!
Date Available: 03/20/2013
BONUS REVIEW by Kirk Jackson

Regardless of who ends up writing this title after issue 2, everyone should definitely pick up number one and give it a read. I’m directing this specifically to fans of the “classic” John Constantine as established by Alan Moore in Swamp Thing and Jamie Delano in the original issues of Hellblazer. This is the Constantine that really only knows how to get things done through cheating and sacrificing the people who are supposed to be his friends. This is the Constantine that people in the know really don’t want to get close to. Furthermore, his enemies are classic figures from DC’s mystical past that should strike fear into the heart of any long time fan. I for one was afraid Johnny would become just a guy in a trench coat who can create light shows with his hands. However, both the writing and the art pay proper tribute to the character I spent the 90’s growing to know and love.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
