BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

A done in one that seemed like it would be great on paper. It's not great, and its on paper, so I guess that's a double disappointment. The big draw here was Kevin Nowlan working on a sequence set in Stephen's past. He's aided/inked by M. Hands, who hasn't worked since the 80's (I always preferred his brother, D. Hands). Hands sure looks like he's six different inkers now, and few of the styles compliment Nowlan's tight art style or use his heavy spotted blacks.

That's still the best of the issue. They're all offset by a bland story that seems to be setting up a future villain, and art from people who make Kevin Nowlan at his worst look like Kevin Nowlan at his best. The scratchy squiggles of the modern sequence seem like unfinished try out pages. Recommended for people who don't like Doctor Strange, comic art, or themselves.

I give it 4 out of 10 Grahams
