This is the birth of the Green Lantern, at least in another universe. I'm interested in the DC alternate worlds, but the appeal is dwindling. First there is the hyper focus on a handful of super-people who are far removed from society. They are isolated, so no look-see on how the culture of this Earth is different. Makes me feel like I'm reading Robinson Crusoe. Also, because this Green Lantern was gay, they did the one thing to the couple which they shouldn't have done. *** Spoiler alert *** They killed off one of them. I saw it coming in the previous issue, and hoped they wouldn't do it. Ah, what a wrong choice. Lastly, the explanation on why GL wasn't around for the first battles with Darkseid in earlier Earth 2 comics was shaky, at best. And why the accident, a fallout from last issue? I still don't understand. I like the art, I like Earth 2, I like alternatives to my favorite heroes...but this is off track, for me.
