I really wanted to give this a higher rating. Even as we speak, I'm trying to figure out a way to bump it up. Cause I really did enjoy reading this. But I can't overlook the facts here. First fact is that Green Lantern wasn't really given a make over by the New 52 universe. (And why should it, the storylines were solid and the book was selling well!)There were hidden messages everywhere you looked and the connect the dot logic of the storylines were always fun. But maybe that's the problem. This book is made to be the crossover point between the last big event and the newest big event in Green Lantern. But haven't we had enough big events in Green Lantern? The surprises have become common place and we are literally drowning in hidden meanings. Did anyone really not see that the little blue guys were going to go off their nut? Hell, they basicly lobotomized Ganthet and let his girl run off with Agent Orange!) So what if there exists a 1st Lantern that's been locked away for eons. They had the Manhunters hidden away, they had the rainbow colored lanterns hidden away, Krona...the source of Alan Scott's power ring prior to the New 52!) Hello, these little blue nutjobs have been stashing stuff away for longer than recorded history just to let it all out for the next big event. No spoilers here but Green Lantern fans will be overjoyed but I'm just burned out. Will the little blue goblins finally wack the universe with their mouthless Doctor Who Silence wannabe Third Army in just over twelve issues? Who knows but chances are it won't surprise me.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
