BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

Guardians meet the Avengers against the Chitauri. The title of this book might as well be 'Let's Print Money'#1. It's written by Brian Michael Bendis, who never met a joke he didn't like. He likes several things in this issue by that standard. Spider-Woman and Rocket have an exchange the might be the reason for her new costume. Hawkeye shares his thoughts on life and arrows with his interstellar counterpart Star-Lord. Drax says 'thee', and you can tell he means it by the amount of destruction after the word.

Much of the goings on exist only to have legend Art Adams return to sequential comics. That would have been enough to recommend checking it out. He's the biggest surprise, as the artwork is shot from his pencils. It gives the work by an artist best known for tight, clean lines and heavy detail work a lightness, almost a freedom that's never been there before. I don't know a better way to describe it. It's glorious, and it works in nearly every panel. I don't know if everyone will like it. I can see fans feeling shortchanged somehow. I was utterly delighted by this move. I hope its not another five years before we see his storytelling again.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
