• Take a look at the twisted origins of Eternia's most loathsome and terrible villain. • What horrific events from Skeletor's secret past defined the evil despot he became?
Date Available: 10/31/2012
BONUS REVIEW by Tom Morrison

Frazer Irving's artwork takes center stage in this look at the creation of Skeletor. Being the ruler of Eternia is no easy task, especially when the throne is in the cross-hairs of the person who would be Skeletor. A half blood prince who as deserving as he believes himself to be, will never be seen as a true heir, and therefore is forced to do what he must. For anything else but being King of Eternia would be unsatisfactory for our hero. Told in a parallel flashback the rise the man who would be Skeletor, Prince Keldor, is beautifully illustrated by Irving. By making good use of Skeletor's hallmark skin-tone, he helps guide the reader through not only the mans corruption, but also his physical corrosion. You didn't think he was born with that face, did you? The story of a jealous heir who gets reborn has been done quite a lot, I'm looking at you Darth Vader, and this is no different, but the visual of Skeletor fighting death makes it worth the trip.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
