62 pages, no ads, 6 bucks.

That's a great place to start for any book. Do you like crime fiction? This book is great. Did you read the excellent Vertigo adaptation? Its missing a ton of the original novel, restored here for the first time. If, after 2 movies in 2 languages, a multi hardcover adaptation, and one of the best selling fiction books of the past 15 years, you don't know what this title is about, I'll give you a primer. An investigative journalist is brought in to find out who killed a member of the powerful Vanger family in the 1960s. He gets the job having been investigated and vetted by Lisbeth Salander (the girl, who happens to have a dragon tattoo). Their paths will cross again, and again, and again, but not in this issue.

Do you need to know she's a ward of the state? Yes, it will help. This adaptation is so thorough that I'm not going to throw in any other details. You should know that the art is almost straight cartooning, but in that style, it is consistent and lovely. The artist is the colorist as well, and they have made something that reminded me of an EC book, or when Bernie Wrightson would work will Bill Wray. Recommended for people who like to see people who have it coming get it.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
