VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Written by BRIAN REED
Penciled by AARON LOPRESTI
Cover by GREG HORN
A new story arc begins as Ms. Marvel drafts two recruits from the Initiative…Machine Man and Sleepwalker?! When Araña is kidnapped, it's time for Carol Danvers to use her newly expanded strike force to squash an evil that's hit too close to home! The ongoing team of writer Brian Reed and artist Aaron Lopresti kicks off the three-part "Puppets" with a last-page reveal that'll have fans of female heroes buzzing!

"All I can think of to describe this issue is “inexplicably decent”. I don’t care for the creators. I’m sick of the main character. The thought of following the trajectory of Arana’s character arc makes me cringe. But SWEET FANCY ELLIS AND KIRKMAN IN A ROWBOAT, you stick in Machine Man and Sleepwalker and you’ve got my eyeballs for 22 pages. Writer Brian Reed nails all the right traits for both characters and fits them in perfectly, even though the main villain is telegraphed form the first page. If I can’t get Nextwave, this’ll have to do."
