Ragnarok #2 (2014)

$3.99
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W/A/CA) Walter Simonson
Walter Simonson's grand epic continues! The Black Elf Assassin and her team of trolls, orcs, and renegades has reached to the Fortress at the Edge of the World. Their masked employer gifted them with the spells necessary to break into Kliffborg to destroy whatever, or whomever, they find within. And in a stone chamber surrounded by a field of stars, they come face to face with a myth all but forgotten in the wake of the Enemies' victory at Ragnarök, a myth more dangerous than anything they could have imagined.
Date Available: 10/08/2014
BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

All of the majesty of Walter Simonson's work on 'Thor' is on display without restriction in Ragnarok, his new creator owned title from IDW. Imagine the man who defined Thor for generations immearsed in the world of Norse mythology again. Those factors make this the best book you'll read this week. A Black Elf with a plan, thieves with a lust for gold, and a corpse befriended by a squirrel. The corpse has something familiar about it...is that why its restrained by mystical chains? A quick look at the cover should answer that. Honor, vengeance, and courage run rampant, and all three are soaked in blood.

Superior coloring choices by Laura Martin combined with John Workman's unrivaled lettering leave us wanting more more more. What rhymes with 'more'? I know its Nordic, and I think its godlike.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
