Wow. When I heard Hickman was doing a new Image book, I knew it would be awesome. I didn't even care to look up the premise: I was fully onboard. Man does it deliver! Futuristic fighter pilots with, let's call it, "jump-drive" technology (for all those Battlestar fans out there who can relate). But these pilots aren't just jumping to alternate coordinates, they're jumping through time.
"Time is not linear" is definitely a theme in this new series. With art by up and coming artist Nick Pitarra, fans of the chunky art of Frank Quitely should dig this style. The story pops off the panels in an exciting way, making me feel like I was a kid watching Rocketeer for the first time. But don't get me wrong, it's not anything like Rocketeer, it just gave me that feeling again. That excitement of enjoying something brand new, and the possibilities for this book are endless. I can't wait to see where this takes us!
