In an era when lineage defined you, three teenagers must make their way through the world hiding their identities in order to find their destinies. As their village burns behind them, they are headed for a city they'd heard about only in stories. The three young samurai must now struggle to stay alive and take vengeance on the evil usurper who has destroyed the rest of their clan and the only world they'd ever known. Will they rise on the tides of vengeance, or they will they fall on the swords of fate?

Drawing the line at, wait…what…are you kidding me? A dollar? Yes folks that’s right the first issue of this great six issue series is cheaper than a McDouble and a lot less painful later as well. The story that centers around the last three young survivors of a butchered clan on a quest for family vengeance and to discover who they are is written by someone who has a good working knowledge of samurai culture and its people. The art here is nothing to ignore either. Normally I don’t care for the “Japanime” style but when you are writing a story that takes place in feudal Japan, lo and behold, it just works. The characters are likable and it’s easy to care about what happens to them as well. One word of caution though: this comic was not written for children or mouth breathers. If you are either, please go pick up something that one of the big two has made into a movie this summer. Did I mention that you can buy this book with the change you have in your car? Because you can, and you should.
