Bloody Mary, or Innocent Mary, or Typhoid Mary, or Mary Walker, or Lyla or whatever her identity is currently, described Shadowland #3 best this week in her own words: “This is crazy. And believe me, I know crazy…”. Well said Mary. Crazy or not though, this book is becoming quite a fun ride as the art, pacing, and writing just keep getting better and better with each issue. As a trained martial artist though, I sometimes found myself getting nit-picky and thinking that the portrayal of techniques represented here is “impossible”, but then Iron Fist kindly reminded me that that was sort of the point in all of this. It is intended to be an escape from reality. And what an exciting, entertaining, escape from reality Shadowland is turning out to be. Plus, depending on how you feel about Spiderman, he does get set on fire here. Just saying.
I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
