Silver Surfer In Thy Name #1

$6.00
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Written by SIMON SPURRIER Art by TAN ENG HUAT Cover by MICHAEL TURNER

The Silver Surfer delves alone into the furthest depths of the void; tangling with organ-stealing pirates, demonic beasts and a race of alien aristocrats. Everyone’s favorite Cosmic Wanderer discovers that even in the midst of a galactic utopia, horror is never far away...With electrifying artwork by the dynamic Tan Eng Huat (Doom Patrol, Batman) and an endlessly inventive script by Simon Spurrier – the writer behind the sold-out Gutsville – In Thy Name promises to be this fall most spectacular Alien Extravaganza!

"I wasn’t looking forward to reading this, but WOW is this a well-done sci-fi story. The normally blank-slate Surfer gets a lot of help from Si Spurrier’s intricate, Alan-Moore-in-the-early-80’s narration. Tan Eng Huat has rethought his art style, forgoing the busy line-work of his early days for a shot-from-pencils, toned Phil Winslade approach. Not exactly reinventing the wheel, this is just a solidly done, compelling take on a character that rarely seems suited for solo work. A great first issue."
