Boom! studios made me look by plugging Stan Lee on the cover, but it was Mark Waid, the scripter of the story, that got me to plug down my nickels and dimes. And wow, talk about a holiday feast. Mark Waid writes a story that’s a joy a read, simply fun, giving the reader the chance to discover the characters and situations rather than narrating everything that “we need to know”. Reminded me of Alan Moore at his most entertaining. Yeah, the Traveler has battles, somewhat, and does strange things that we are sure will be explained later, but it leaves with unanswered questions and a gripping cliff-hanger ending. Check it out; can’t go wrong with Mr. Waid at the wheel.
