BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

This book should have been terrible. I'm as prone as anyone to give a little leeway where Star Wars is concerned, but it's late late late late late. Tooooooo late if you take my meaning. It has to just be a cash grab, because who gives a hoot's hoot about a red arm? Would we get a 48 page special about C-3PO falling off the ridge and losing his arm in 'Star Wars' if it were made today? No. Plus, its late...sooooo late that it missed the home release for Force Awakens.

It's great. How did this happen? James Robinson has written a book that manages to address the issues of artificial intelligence, military loyalty, purpose on the battlefield, and friendship using five droids, two of which can't even really speak. The art by Tony Harris is an odd mix of heavy blacks, art nouveau layouts, and wood block coloring spattered with psychodelia. It shouldn't work, but somehow it does. Was it worth telling a story about how an annoying robot *(that we admittedly love)lost ANOTHER arm? Was it worth waiting an extra 4 months to read that story?

Yeah. It's going to make some of you cry. Maybe not everyone, but don't be surprised if it sneaks up on you.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
