He’s red, he’s yellow, and he likes lightning bolts-and no, it’s not DC’s Captain Marvel. Geoff John kicks off a new storyline, Flashpoint, with some guy speeding through Central City on a fast motorcycle, while Barry tends to work, family, and a dash of superhero business. It’s a nice kicking off point; no Earth-shattering events, but you get the sense of the pot warming up so that it can all boil over in the next handful of issues. Cool cliffhanger ending, too. I liked this issue, since it was an excellent kickoff for new readers, offering fun art, and Geoff went for a straight-up, understandable story. It just got the job done, and I can’t complain about that.
