O.K., not sure where this book is going. First, let’s be straight: I have hundreds of Thor comics, and I’ll keep buying this title even if it was written by five year old girls who put him in tea party after tea party. That said, to me, the character has lost long term focus ever since Odin went away; the father-son dynamic, with jealous Loki hovering around, was central to the book’s power, and with that gone it’s hard to see any conflict beyond the next bad guy showing up. Case in point: this issue is the epilogue to the Siege storyline. Basically it’s long on Balder asking Thor to be part of Asgard again, and short on the battle with Ragnarok. Somewhat interesting, yet, well, I don’t know…I love Thor, but the character has lost his inner turmoil. He’s at peace, and that what makes it so bland.
I give it 5 out of 10 Grahams
