STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PAGES OF X-MEN AND RIGHT INTO THE JUGULAR! Jubilee is about as far away from the ideal X-Man as it is possible for a 17-year-old minty fresh vampire to be. While the X-Men try to find a way to give her as normal a life as is inhumanly feasible, her decidedly abnormal vampire cravings will not be denied. Between that and her newfound powers, she's winning the fights but not the popularity contests among most of the other X-Kids. Most...but not all. And just when Jubilee starts to think that there is no place for her anywhere, a group of vampire women make her an offer she can't refuse. It seems like the perfect solution…unless Wolverine has anything to say about it!

Ok. I'm going to come right out and say it. I liked this book. Being as sick of Vampires (spelled o-v-e-r-k-i-l-l) as I am, I can't say I was pleased with the House of Idea's bright idea of turning Jubilee into a bloodsucker. Then again, I wasn't happy they depowered her either. Also, I went into reading this thinking "Not another Wolverine title". Well, I was wrong. To me, this first issue reads more like a Jubilee comic that just so happens to feature Wolverine. The set up for the storyarch is strong, the art is top notch, and this is a pairing of character's I've always enjoyed. Jubilee's current standing with the other X-people is established (ie: Not good), and with Wolverine, you get a strong paternal/older brother feel for his relationship with her. If I have any problem, it's with how old Jubilee say's she is...just figured she'd be older than she says. That said, fun read. If you liked this pairing way back in the day, this is looking like it will be in the same vein (vampire pun not intended) as the older stories, just slightly updated.
