 The true purpose of the Guide has evolved along with the internet. No longer the final barometer of monetary value, this book has become the absolute authority on Comics and more importantly, how to collect them. I've certainly collected many things by throwing them on the passenger side floor of the car. This approach is ill advised. This tome will tell you haw to identify comics (lookin' at you Four Color and Classics Illustrated), how to preserve them, and how they came to be. A great resource for both the golden age fan and the frantic variant hunter, it's mandatory if you want to keep your gold level slot in the nerd club. Highly recommended for everybody from the guy interested in buying Famous Funnies #1 to the dude who thinks the latest Gabriele Dell'otto swipe is just awesome. Get the Hero Initiative Edition and donate some money to older creators who need it, because even Artgerm is going to get old someday. I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
