DC's 'Year of the Villain' begins its sinister conclusion! Lex Luthor has brought Perpetua back from her cosmic grave and restored her power! Now the Multiverse lives in fear that she might wipe out all existence. The only thing that could stop her are the forces of the Dark Multiverse- which means it's Luthor's mission to defeat the Batman Who Laughs! But if Batman and Superman couldn't stop him, what chance does Luthor stand? Spinning out of the end of the 'Justice/ Doom War' in Justice League #38 and the conclusion of the epic 'Infected' arc from Batman/Superman #5, DC's two top villains face off in a battle royal-and the fate of all reality hangs in the balance!

Making approximately 1000% more sense than a recent issue of Justice League, this mini-series is where the future of the DC Universe is headed. Don't like Anatomy-flex Lex? Not a fan of Pointy-face Judge Batman? That doesn't matter because Dan Didio doesn't like Geoff Johns, and Doomsday Clock is over. This is the book that leads into the next big thing, without too much over the top "Metalosity". It's a particularly good book if you've avoided any of the latest batch of Snyder-induced crazy. This issue literally brings you up to speed on all of the current Matrix 3 levels of confusion that reading a few pages of Justice League can induce. It's not going to change your life, but it's better than a bag full of screaming Monitors. Highly recommended for anybody interested in DC, those who want to see the villains fight instead of the heroes, and anybody of the opinion that James Tynion IV could out-write Scott Snyder, even if he couldn't use verbs.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
