The non-Tom Batman monthly steps up with this issue that manages to be what Night of the Monster men should have been. More of a standard hero book, Detective is more about everyone in town who isn't Bruce Wayne. The neat trick it's pulling off is that it meshes fairly well with the primary Batman title, while having a whole different, more rollicking vibe.
Highly recommended for fans of Spoiler, Batwoman, Tim Drake, and Orphan.
Not so highly recommended for fans of Basil Karlo, who you may remember from such films as Dread Castle.
