Image was nice enough to send out preview copies of the first six issues of Oblivion Song, Robert Kirkman's new ongoing series. That's some Disney level confidence. It was worth it. In a nutshell, I think its pretty great, and I'm not the only one who will be telling you that.I thought it was pretty great. It has:

Quick world building to tell you what's going on, where, and why.

Quick character building to lay out appealing/unappealing aspects for most people in the book.

Easy room for growth outside of what we've seen already.

A smooth visual style that is clearly comic in nature. The copies we saw earlier were on newsprint. This is on high gloss paper, and its dramatically better in most ways. It reminded me of John Biven's work on 'The Spread'.

Lastly, it was surprisingly fun given the grave scenario.

Hop on board now. The next six months are going to be great.
