VERY FINE/NEAR MINT

Written by John Ostrander
Art by J. Calafiore
Cover by Daniel LuVisi

Deadshot takes center stage! He’s always been a killer, but now the urge to kill everyone is threatening to take him over completely. Can the mercenary pull himself out of these murderous depths? Or will he drown in the murky waters of his own addiction to death? Guest-written by John Ostrander, whose fan-favorite run on SUICIDE SQUAD helped define Deadshot.

BONUS REVIEW by GARY OWENSS

Here I thought I would read about six, but only got uno. The scribe Ostrander takes a break and writes a one-shot featuring Deadshot, catching us up on his origin, his parents, his connection with a Gotham neighborhood. And why he sees a priest. Good ending, too, since he adeptly avoids the contrived reason for telling backstories (no senseless monloguing here). Still: where are the six?

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
