Skybound is the story of Merlin the Magician coming back to steal Excalibur from the immortals of the Catholic Church. As written and drawn by Frank Cho, there's a wondrous mix of top drawer fantasy, over the top theology, over-er the top-er-er military might, and James Bond style action. It is an unusual mix, but you essentially get to see an immortal 007 fight a Minotaur instead of trying out cars. There's a nice recap in this issue to bring you up to speed, but you'd be better served tracking down a copy of #1 to enjoy the clean contours and meticulously fine line work of Mr. Cho.
