What if? Cassandra Cain was stuck in Spirited Away while a new mystical, non-binary hero with a big ol’ buster blade tries to save her from perishing in the spirit world? Oh, and I guess John Constantine is here too. I’ve always been a fan of the mystical side of comics, especially DC. Alyssa Wong is doing a great job of building on a strong foundation of magic and adding their own touch to it. The art is amazing as well, as Haining captures the feeling of two different worlds with brilliant color work by Sebastian Cheng bringing it all together. Xanthe, the main character of Spirit World, is a non-binary spirit that can freely move between the land of the living and the spirit realm. I always get excited seeing enby representation, and Alyssa Wong has been delivering on fantastic queer characters in all of the series I’ve been reading by them. The character designs, the story, the art, and the emotion behind everything is making this one of my most anticipated series of this year and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did! 10/10 Grahams
