If you read the description DC provides for this issue, you'll be very disappointed. There's a good chance it will apply to some future issue (issues?), but the story here isn't about anyone attacking the Earth. This is about the Synmar as a people, going back to the destruction of Krypton.


That is an interesting story. What they've seen, what they've done or chosen not to do, these are impactful things on the history of the DC universe. Their pages are inked by Julio Ferreira, and they are beautiful, bringing out the best in Ivan Reis' pencils.

Suffering significantly are the Superman/Earth pages inked by Danny Miki. Normally a great choice to tighten up say, a Mark Bagley or late in life JRJR, his thin lines with little change in weight do damage to Reis' work, no way around it. This is a double sized issue, and the split gives the parallel stories unique feels, but the title of the book is 'Superman' and he got the short end of the pen here.
