REVIEW by BRIAN FISHER
Whatever problems J. Michael Straczynski might have with the higher-ups at Marvel, it certainly doesn’t shine through in his work. He puts every effort into every script he writes, or at least it seems like it. And he’s definitely putting every effort forth with Thor. The fill-in art by Marko Djurdjevic is perfect for this title and, while it’s a vast departure from Copiel’s art, it fits seamlessly into this particular story. The events in the last issue have nearly killed Thor, and now, to recuperate he has to perform the “Odinsleep,” where he hovers dangerously between life and death. Aside from his usual need to fill each story with some kind of techno-babble or scientific gobbledy-gook, Straczynski crafts an excellent tale of fathers and sons, while not making it sentimental pap.
I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
