Fast quick and straight to the point is what I have to say about this book. Symbiotes are being used on soldiers to create the ultimate weapon but what could possibly go wrong! This ends up turning into exactly what you would expect in this situation. No spoilers but whoever could have started this program *cough cough* Nick fury will need a little help from a familiar face. The ultimate predator meets the ultimate hunter and I was absolutely pleased by this.
But let us get straight to the point: if you’re not a person already reading Venom, should you pick this up off the rack? Sure, but you will be losing all the great pieces that fall into place with this issue. Cates is really putting a nice bow on the top of the new Venom mythos which at first had me hesitant as such a big fan. The only markdown on this is because it is a one shot and the other is because our special guest that shows up would have knowledge about symbiotes before our Venom even existed - opening a whole new can of worms and questions I know I will never get answered which I cannot be the only person who feels frustrated by this. Otherwise Web of Venom is a must read for anyone reading the ongoing and comes highly recommended by yours truly the Venom freak himself. Till next time folks!
