Damn you Garth Ennis! The Charlie Brown-ish luck of Karl Kaufmann and general rogueishness of his character gave him a charm that I could appreciate. Oh sure, he was a jerk but that was just a small part of his appeal. And as I read his last ditch attempt to fly again, I felt a quickening of the heart. No spoilers but the ending is just not right, man! Real life be damned, our misguided hero deserved more that what he got!
