WHAT IF…CARTER BURKE HAD LIVED? For years, fans of James Cameron's legendary Aliens questioned whether Carter Burke, a company man more hateable than the Xenos themselves, had actually survived the traumatic events on the terraforming colony Hadley's Hope. Now the actor behind the beloved villain, Paul Reiser, joins his son Leon and the star-studded team of writers and producers Adam F. Goldberg, Brian Volk-Weiss and Hans Rodionoff for a journey back to Hadley's Hope and the twisted escape of a man who should have died.

So first off, excited that they're using the WHAT IF branding on their licensed products, but then equally disappointed that this was the launch idea. What if Carter Burke had lived? I know, you don't recall who Carter Burke was. Played by Paul Reiser he was the 'company man' liaison that dealt with Ripley. So MANY great concepts they could have played with, especially after producing the hit PREDATOR VS WOLVERINE - I thought we'd see something equally blockbuster in it's conception. Instead we got a thought that probably none of us have EVER pondered on. What if Aliens had fought the Avengers? What if Aliens vs the FF? What if Aliens met Charo? Still, that said, this was surprisingly well executed and I found myself getting pulled into the storyline. Didn't hurt that they recreated some line for line scenes from Aliens 2 to remind you who Carter Burke was (smart move). An easy book to mistakenly overlook, you'll be glad that you didn't. I found it a lot more enjoyable than most of the Marvel Aliens have been so far. Give it a shot!

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
