Volume one of Mark Waid's Daredevil wraps up in this issue, and its terrific. Matt springs a surprise in order to have the last word in his current case, and it undoes pretty much everything in his life in three small words. Those words also undo and validate at the same time everything done during the last great run on DD, the Bendis/Maleev years. Its a testament to Waid's love of specific character history that a change like the one coming doesn't feel arbitrary, but organic. He avoids (and I suspect rejects) the mantra applied to SO SO many books (and TOO TOO many writers) of changing things just to change them. I've been skeptical of Marvel's 'west coast' initiative since DC moved their headquarters, but am looking forward to seeing what happens in Matt's future in Waid's hands. (It also doesn't hurt that Chris Samnee is the s**t). Bring on volume two!

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
