Eight issues of searching have left them completely exhausted and out of ideas. Max Lord is approaching Joker levels in that he's never found until he wants to be. Recently in issue #6 we learn of the devastating future Max Lord's actions will lead to if gone unstopped. (did you miss it? Man that was a great issue!)
