• It's a deathrap for Superman as he matches wits with his greatest enemy for the final time as The Man of Steel loses it! • Plus: The death of...?!
Date Available: 10/24/2012
BONUS REVIEW by Dan Weick

Superman #13 features great art from new series artist Kenneth Rocafort and colorist Sunny Gho. Varied layouts and bright, bold colors are a welcome change from artists Dan Jurgens and Jesus Merino, who kept the book on schedule, but whose art was hardly inspired. The story, by longtime comics scribe Scott Lobdell, sees Superman fighting Kryptonian dragons, and Clark Kent embarking in a new career direction, reflecting current trends in journalism. (Clark’s distaste for modern news-mongering seems especially relevant in the midst of our current election cycle). Lobdell does a fine job reconciling beats from previous stories while moving forward with the H’el on Earth crossover story, which this issue is a prelude to. All in all it is a solid start for the new creative team.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
