BONUS REVIEW by JOHN SCHAEFER

Again, DC brings us an older title in a newer format. 9 stories in a whopping 71 page (77 of you count those preview pages at the end of the book. Dave Gibbons, The Great Karlini is a terrific example of the stories The Unexpected used to bring us. The poiniant humor of G. Willow Wilson's Dogs is beautifully thought provoking. And Alex Grecian's Look Alive, is an interesting character study. The six other stories add wonderful spice to an already fine meal. The cover art by Rafael Grampa (how can you not love a guy who's last name is Grampa!) is equally erotic and disturbing. But there is a down side. The Unexpected is A) a one-shot and B) tagged at $7.99 which could scare many a reader away. I know my eyebrow shot up when I saw it. In a current economic marketplace where the great $3.99/$2.99 debate is still up for grabs, a book (no matter what it offers us)at $7.99 is bound to turn away many the frugal consumer. Due to it's cost, I could only afford to give it 7 out of 10 grahams.
