Geoff Johns and Sterling Gates confronts DC, as Superboy Prime, hunted by Black Lanterns, seeks them out in New York City to show them what they’ve done to a beloved character. Personally, I’ve had mixed feelings about how DC transformed Superboy Prime, since I loved the Cub Scout viewpoint in the old stories, though, as evidenced here, they’ve added depth to him, making him one of the most three dimensional characters in the DC universe. And the backup story isn’t just a toss out, either, with a stunning revelation at the end. Overall, a great story, and I can’t wait for the next issue.
