Alien #1 (2022) has been added to your cart.
Do you like Alien Resurrection? I do. You'll need to, because United Systems, the company that replaced Weyland Yutani features heavily in it. I guess Disney isn't retroactively changing anything from continuity.
(What? The Alien TV series takes place on Earth? Decades before 'Alien'? And will feature xenomorphs on Earth??)
Speaking of xenomorphs, the execs at Disney weren't happy that there weren't many aliens in their Alien book, and told Marvel to restart the ship. They did, so we have a new number one just 12 issues later. Do they have aliens in it? Is it more focused on aliens, doing alien things?
Only in flashback. There is one particularly violent page, and then the rest of the book is 'androids', I mean, 'artificial humans', I mean 'synthetics', I mean 'robots', I mean BORING. There are no surprises left to be had, and if there are, they aren't happening with this group of them. In space, no one can hear you sigh.
The art is a tiny improvement, given that its not being traced from photographs of toys this time around (shame on you, Salvador Larocca), but Phillip Kennedy Johnson remains a miss for writing this title.
Remember when Dark Horse could put out two Alien titles a year and it was all new material that expanded on the existing universe and ranged from the hilarious to the horrific? Those stories are still available in any new Alien Omnibus. Ask for them by name.
