Geoff Johns is taking it to a whole new level, leaving any complaints I may have about the series almost irrelevant. At times Geoff Johns seems over-worked and the dialogue can seem phoned in. Every now and then the dialogue is out of character, like maybe it was rushed. But even through the slightly convoluted story and the endless death/rebirths of our beloved characters, this issue ended with a big enough bang that I am able to forgive the tedious discrepancies. Expectations were high due to the amazing portfolio Johns has accumulated, and that is the reason Blackest Night hasn’t been at the top of my best event list.
