In the tradition of such best-selling introductory Dynamite launches as Red Sonja and Battlestar Galactica, Dynamite is launching the all-original #0 issue
for just 25¢! Under a John Cassaday cover (Cassaday serves as series cover artist), writer Scott (Batman) Beatty and artist Carlos Rafael present an original
12 page comic book adventure - "The Death of Buck Rogers"! This is where it all begins and Dynamite's plans for Buck Rogers follow the model
that they've followed over the years beginning with Red Sonja, embracing the history of such classic characters, but giving them a modern edge for
today's audiences! All this, and for a quarter to introduce you to the new canon of Buck Rogers!

All right, I know you’re all expecting the Gil Gerard Buck Rogers, but this IS NOT IT. What it IS, however, is AWESOME! I too, was hoping for Twikki, hot space-bikinis and awesome 70’s chest hair (OK, not so much on the chest hair). What I got was just as good (although, space-bikinis wouldn’t have hurt). This issue #0 is actually the LAST issue, what I thought was a great change of pace. Starting right in the middle of an adventure and showing you the DEFINATIVE ending to the series. I’m sure issue #1 will be an origin issue, and that’s fine, but the short paragraph of text on the inside front cover does a fantastic job of summing up what you need ( and don’t know need)to know. The action is fast-paced, but not impossible to follow and doesn’t stop for the length of the book. GREAT writing by Scotty Beatty!
-The art is…..what’s the opposite of terrible? Fantastic? Kick-@$$? Well, whatever it is, that’s what I’m using to describe the art. I wasn’t really familiar with Carlos Raphael before this comic, but now I’m actually tempted to track down some of his previous work. Bottom line, I would’ve been happy to buy this issue for $3.50, but for .99¢, it’s like legalized shoplifting!!! BUY IT NOW BEFORE I SHOOT YOU WITH A RAYGUN!!!
