Daredevil #21 (2019) has been added to your cart.
Batman has been torn down and built up any number of times. It's a pretty common comic trope. It's happening right now, again, in Joker War, after happening, again, over Tom King's 85 issue run. Since there are always new comic readers, there's always the potential for value to this kind of story. That means it happens at Marvel as well, and at Marvel, there's nothing like Catholic guilt to get a rebuild going, right Matt?
While DC has been in perpetual de-Bruce/re-spruce mode for the past 4 years, its actually been a while since we've had one in Daredevil (or at least one of note). Chip Zdarsky joins Miller, Nocenti, and Bendis with what has been a spectacular deconstruction of the man without fear. These sorts of stories usually end with the hero back in costume (hell, we saw the new Bat-Suit today!), but the return to red here is just the beginning of where Matt is going.
Marco Checchetto remains remarkably consistant in his sequential output, jumping away from cover work. He's one of Marvel's best 'young' finds and it is great to see he's got the stuff.
