VERY FINE/NEAR MINT Written by Judd Winick
Art and cover by Cliff Chiang
The second story arc of this hit new series begins with a tragedy for Oliver Queen!
"The absolute best thing about Oliver Queen, as this issue proves, is that he’s pretty much the only A-list DC character that’s allowed to be a jerk. Not a ‘brooding loner’ Batman type, but a real top-to-bottom, conflicted, selfish, antagonistic, hot-tempered, bitter, self-hating jerk. And he’s a superhero! It’s the thing that makes an issue like this one work, as the Arrow Family spends 20 pages in a waiting room, anxious to find out if Connor Hawke can survive the shock ending of last issue. The fact that Ollie’s emotions over his time spent with Connor are so complicated keeps this issue tense all the way through. Little revelations pepper his dialogue, and keep ratcheting the tension. A great job by Judd Winick and Cliff Chiang."
