The real value in this issue, unfortunately, can’t be found until you reach the “Origins & Omens” backup story. The only engaging parts from Peter Tomasi’s main story, “Emerald Eclipse”, were when Mongul was the focus as he attempts to rebuild the Sinestro Corps, and even those pages were a struggle to get through at times because of Patrick Gleason’s less than stellar penciling. HOWEVER, despite all that, if you have any interest in DC’s upcoming “Blackest Night” saga then give this issue a chance because it does a sufficient table setting job at the very least.
