Jessica Jones #18 has been added to your cart.
Let's begin the goodbye tour for Bendis!(tm) at Marvel with his most personal book. This issue is a fine done-in-one. While not the best Jessica Jones issue, it is probably one of the two best Armadillo issues (Captain America #308 won't ever lose the crown. Secret Wars II crossover..??? I digress.) At this point, we know Jessica- what's good for her, bad for her, what we like and don't like. We get to have a bit of all of those in this issue.
I think what's most impressive about Jess (Can I call her that? I've known her since she showed up.) is how well developed she is. She's kind of a garbage human being, but I think most of us are after life grinds us down. I think it is fully relevant to have a cuss-mongering alcoholic who makes accidental babies out there trying to figure out what the right thing to do is when she's being read by an adult audience that grew up on Peter Parker without a hint of what the 'real world' was like.
Things like that matter. We all have real bottoms. If someone who was owned by Purple Man can pick herself up after all that and look for the fix instead of the out. we really don't have any room to allow ourselves to do less. From one garbage human being to another, I'll miss you Jess.
And Bendis. Almost no way in h*** this works without him.
